Acceptance
By using ProofOF you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the changes.
What ProofOF does
ProofOF is a personal tool for tracking return windows and warranty expirations. It stores your entries locally and, if you sign in, syncs them to our server end-to-end encrypted so they can be restored across your own devices. It is provided "as is" and does not guarantee a store will accept a return or honor a warranty.
Proof of purchase, warranties, and return windows
ProofOF is a warranty tracker and return window tracker for shoppers. The service stores proof of purchase — retailer, price, serial, and receipt photo — as a single proof packet. We do not set a retailer’s return policy or warranty length; you confirm it. The service is an organizer and reminder, not a guarantor of a retailer accepting a return or warranty claim.
Your Data
You own the data you enter. You can export or delete it from within the app. We don't claim ownership of your purchases or receipts.
Encryption and recovery
Receipt photos and purchase details are encrypted on your device before they sync, and only devices you pair can read them. We cannot see, recover, or reset your data for you. If you lose all your paired devices without a recovery phrase, your synced data — saved receipts, items, and all deadlines — is permanently unrecoverable. Keep your recovery phrase somewhere safe.
Reminders
After you confirm a purchase, ProofOF asks for notification permission — never before. If granted, you'll receive reminders at 30, 15, 7, and 1 days before each return and warranty deadline. You can change or disable these in Settings at any time.
Responsible Use
Don't use ProofOF to misrepresent a purchase, forge proof of purchase, or attempt fraud. You're responsible for the accuracy of the barcodes and receipts you store.
Limitation of Liability
ProofOF is a utility and reminder tool. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for missed deadlines, lost data, or a store's refusal of a return or warranty claim.
